Last week our dream came true! We piloted our evidenced and tested tool: The Long Game - Your Family's Longevity Planner. And it was a success!

Every research, including our own, indicates #retirement planning is limited to #financialplanning. However once retired, or when the #retirementday closes in, you would not be counting your money, but rather look at ways to spend retirement days meaningfully. What activities or jobs add meaning to your life. In that search many get lost because it is difficult to figure out where to start or where to go.

It like a lottery winners who excitingly anticipate their win, but once the money is in hand, they struggle find a grip on the spending. Similarly, when suddenly you have all the time you want, and it is up to you to choose whatever you want to do with your time and prioritise, it becomes challenging.

The Long Game is a reflective + planning tool for early retirees and soon-to-be-retired. It can be experienced with yourself, with your partner, family or friends. The tool provides a thinking model and action steps on how to find that meaning when you feel lost post retirement. It helps you build your vision board for your retirement life.

Even though the pilot session was a short one hour, as the participants' put it, it gave them a structure and lots to think about wrt constructing their second innings. And we are sooooo sooo sooo happy that the tool is helping #earlyretirees and #retirementplanners the way it was designed to!

Aging is a natural process of life. It’s just a passage of time like any other, with its own set of joys and pains. For me, I feel blessed to have had this extra time to be with my loved ones plus time to relax a bit to do what I want to do the most. Caring little about the nitty grities of the world. My ‘me time’ Aging further means acceptance of all things more easily. Accepting that ur body does not work the way it did, of a slower pace of things, of adjusting to new ideas and new ways of the world, of loss of control over many things. Yet I have the leisure to enjoy things which were put on the back burner, without any pressure. One Becomes totally in touch with ones innerself. To analyse and prioritise what is most important . To enjoy every moment given to u. Like everyday is a new day, a birthday in fact. Following ur heart not mind always, whether it’s spiritualism, kitty parties, shopping, eating that extra piece of cake (if health permits), traveling inspite n despite of it aches n pains. You care less about what the world will say. It’s ur life n u r the most important person in ur life. It’s me time, pulling out all the stops. More maturity to handle difficult situations , with more emphasis on ur relationships, esp old freinds n relatives. A bit more peace n quiet. Above all being more n more me. Take it or leave it. The best step ever to handle the ageing process. It’s just living life as it comes, the good bad or ugly!

The world's population is living longer than ever

The world's population is living longer than ever before, with global average #lifeexpectancy has risen from 34 years in 1913 to 72 years in 2022, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). To put it another way, society is almost gaining an additional day every week. Instead of celebrating this as an achievement, we are looking at it as a threat. To have an older (wiser) demographic "taking over" and possibly becoming a 'burden' on the economy.

Instead, the focus here should be to enable planning and preparing for:
1) healthy and active wisdom decades,
2) financial resilience beyond savings & welfare, maybe through continued income?
3) and leading meaningful and intent-driven wisdom decades.

It is time to shift perspective and empower a demographic that is reflective of a remarkable achievement.

Growing up and as an adult, the only effort I put into my appearance was the matching glass bangles with every outfit I had. I never wore makeup, except a kohl pencil which I stopped using soon. I never thought about my skin or taking care of it with the plethora of products that flood the market. Even now, I go out with my friends and the idea of dressing up is to wear a beautiful saree with a story behind it. Usually, it is "My daughter brought this for me".
